What have we achieved in April - Apr 2008
Once again April saw The Junction offering advice and guidance to enable clients back into the world of work.
We have various success stories to report to include: Rebecca gaining work in Retail, Jem and Norweed obtaining Warehouse positions, Paul gaining a job in Car Body Parts, just to name a few.
During the month of April The Junction Team have worked hard to organise our first Confidence and Motivation course to start on Wednesday, 07 May and to run over a 6 week period. This is the first of it's kind and we hope that it is successful enough to be the first of many.
The Team are looking at various courses and hope to produce an events calendar in the not too distant future, all with the aim of benefiting our clients.
On Saturday, 26 April, The Junction were pleased to support our good freinds at Kiveton and Wales Parish New Community Hall.
We will be offering our services from this centre in the near future.

The launch of The Junction Rotherham - Jan 2008
Through the Government's City Strategy the Rotherham Work and Skills Board is launching The Junction, which will enable people to access mainstream services and provide exciting and innovative life-skills training, with the aim of helping people from disadvantaged communities move from benefit dependency into work, taking full advantage of economic growth across the borough. The project will match these skills requirements with training and career opportunities to meet the recruitment needs of employers.
Brian Coleman, The Junction Manager, said "This is a great initiative for the Rotherham borough. The Junction can be a key stage in people's journey back to work, building on the work already done in Rotherham.
"This is just one example of the positive developments right across the town. We now have the highest employment rate and lowest number of benefit claimants in South Yorkshire. However, there remain pockets of disadvantage and communities where this success is not reflected - The Junction will target these areas.
"The Junction launch will take place at 11.30am on Friday, 25 January at the Old Vicarage, All Saint's Church Yard, Rotherham and the key guest speakers will be John Healey, MP, and David Frost, Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce.
